What happened to this cat?

I was feeding a little feral kitten with an eye infection and she was finally letting me pet her (with gloves on - she had fleas), so I was planning to take her to the vet soon; I was just selling some stuff to pay for it because my parents didn't want to. Now she's disappeared, she hasn't been around for like three days when usually she hangs around all day. Is there a possibility she'll come back or is it more likely she just went away and died somewhere? She seemed to be around 2-4 months old and it seemed as if her mother had abandoned her.

At 2-4 months it isn't abandonment really. The kitten should be ready to be on it's own. It's no longer nursing, and should know somewhat how to hunt.

Any number of things could have happened. Keep your eye out for her. She might be back. Someone else may have already taken her in though.
