  1. Here's the full story!

In 1991 the Soviet Union collapsed. In the aftermath, Georgia was established. One Georgian province, South Osettia, decided to leave Georgia to join Russia. They fought a war for independence and won in 1992. They became Russian citizens. Since then, Russian peacekeepers have been in the area to maintain things. The current Georgian president has long declared his intent to take back South Osettia. While world leaders were at the Olympics in Beijing, Georgia attacked South Osettia. Russia has responded with force and bombed several Georgian sites and has sent armored units into the area.

The US seems to be siding with Georgia, which is blatantly unfair.

  2. No, we are not going to war with them, at least I doubt any time soon.  It is a conflict between the country Georgia and Russia and has nothing to do with America at the moment.  The conflict involved a long-standing dispute over a break-away provice.  Which erupted into violence.  And overnight escalated into a war.

Americans have nothing to worry about so chill out :-).

  3. America isn't siding with anyone right now.  America needs russia's help in the middle east.  America isn't playing sides in this, but most american diplomats have told russia to get out, just because mainly there's supposed to be world peace during the olympics.

  4. I'm pretty sure they mean the other Georgia. It's a country. I live in Georgia and I haven't heard any missles.

  5. Georgia is a country that used to be under control of Russia. The country is located around the area of Armenia, I think! They started fighting over part of the northern part of Georgia (the country) Not the state of Georgia that is in the USA. The US is not involved with this right now.
