What happened with the case about the guy who killed a police officer then was found dead in his jail cell?

That happened down here in Maryland (I work in Northern Virginia). They have determined he was killed intentionally (homicide), not by accident or his own hand. The investigation is continuing, and no one's been accused yet, but this will drag on and on for a while. No one will admit to it, but cops aren't going to finger the person who killed a cop killer, either.
