I was parked at the wrong place at the wrong time..(or right) anyway my car was beat up with hail. Yesterday the insurance guy declared it a total loss. I still owe on the car (it's only a year old) but I do have gap insurance. What will happen next? Is there any way I can keep the hail damaged car? It runs fine, no glass was broken.

  1. I have met this kind of problem before, here is the resource I found useful.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  2. yes, you can keep the car but it will have a salvage title on it.  Your insurance premium might be a little higher (but not always) due to the fact that your car does not have a clean title anymore.  And it will be hard to sell it (if u decided) in the future, you're gonna have to really lower the price.

Like the first guy said, good job for having a gap insurance, it will pay the difference if you owe more than what your car is worth.

  3. First off, smart move getting the GAP insurance.

Yes, you can keep the car, but they will subtract some from your check.
