After filling out your voter registration card and mailing it to your local/state Board of Election's office, you may receive a voter registration card/i.d. in the mail. When I registered after moving (this was a few years ago) I got a card with my name and the address of where I vote on it.

Each state is different, but probably they all send you some sort of document showing that you are registered. You don't have to produce it to vote.
