What happens after you press charges in this situation?

An exbf had a pic of me from when we were 15 & made a fake myspace with it adding all my friends & acquaintances. I went to the police b4 I knew it was him, & the cop said it's considered harrassment & if he used my real birthdate it's fraud. I'm 18 & my ex is 17. I want 2 press charges without my dad knowing, I live at home still. Is it possible 2 do this without involving my dad or him finding out? And what happens after you press charges in this situation? Does it go to court? I've never had to press charges against anyone before. I appreciate your help!

If you press charges, it will go to court unless the exbf admits it and settles with the DA out of court. Your Dad has no part in this. If you are afraid of his reaction, remind him you are of age and you will handle it your way.
