What happens after you send immigrant visa application processing fee bill?

I received a letter from U.S. department of state National Visa Center, asking to pay 400.00$ fee and another letter to my Petitioner of 70.00$. What is this for? and what happens after I've completed the payment? ANY info is helpful, thanks in advance!

  2. Once the immigration petition is approved and an immigrant visa is available, the National Visa Center of the U.S. State Department sends a forms and information package to the U.S. citizen or permanent residents.

    After the necessary forms are completed, the the alien goes to the U.S. Consulate overseas to apply for an immigrant visa.
