After I sign with the agency what happens next? And is it normal for an agency to change your look before sending you out to work?

  1. i think what happens next is they look for people that need models that may fit your descritpion, and try and find jobs for you. So depending on who you sign with they'll tell you when theres a job opening and ask if you want it.

  2. Yes it's normal for them to change your look... They get you auditions... that's what happens after u sign with them..

If i were you I'd sign a freelance contract so you can be in like 20 agency's at once.

  3. after you sign they send you on interviews. they'er not going to send you on  things you're not qualified for. people only fit into so many catagories. you will be sent on things you can fit. if the role calls for a 6 ft. tall blue eyed blond and your 5 ft 2 with black hair you won't be sent on that interview. you can change the color of your hair for a job if the casting director asks cause it will rinse out in a few weeks so thats not a big deal. but you don't want to do anything to your body

that will ruin your look for most of the jobs you will be going for. also if you find your not being sent on interviews you should be change agents

also you don't want to go with an agent that has a bunch of  people

that look like you or fit your catagory cause you won't go out much

  4. If you have a good agent, he or she will be honest with you about your look and style and help you adapt in order to be more likely to get hired.

You might be asked for some money to be included in their head shot book or video reel, which is normal. But don't pay them anything with the promise that they will find you work in return for it. They earn a commission off of you and you shouldn't be asked to pay them anything up front in order to find you work.

Tell them you want to go on EVERY audition you can, and then always make sure you show up on time and prepared. If you get on their blacklist for messing up, you'll just get ignored.
