I have my first one tomorrow, and I'm fifteen so it isn't like I play a ~big role in where I work, since I'm on cash.

What can I expect?

  1. Very little happens at staff meetings.  The boss gripes about everything that's going wrong, then mentions upcoming deadlines, the rest of the employees gripe about the workload and why they can't meet the deadlines.  Somebody spills their coffee, somebody forgets the donuts, and somebody is always late.

In 30 years of working, I can count on the fingers of one hand the times a staff meeting has been truly and honestly productive.  The rest of them have been little more than gripe sessions or ego stroking.

  2. go over the minutes from last meeting than you talk about whatever the boss wants to talk about, usually what he/she thinks everyone is doing wrong and how he/she thinks things can be done better. As well as any changes to the job or place of business.

Don't worry about it at all, it is usually a great way to waste time.
