What happens if I dont go to the student council helping...?

Ok tomorrow monday morning from 7:00-4:00. People who are on student council arep meeting at the school to help prepare for back to school and the dance for incoming 9th graders and I dont want to go but this is my first time being on student council and i really dont want to go. WHat happens? Will I look bad?
