What happens if I dont pay my holiday balance?

i have booked a holiday for 4 people and 1 is being an **** saying they dont know if they can afford it. The company said it will cost 100 pound to cancel. If the 3 of us pay but one doesnt what will happen??

  1. Depends. If the full cost is covered, nothing, you can just go on holiday as if there were the four of you. If, on the other hand, you are short of the full cost, then the holiday company has every right to cancel your booking and keep the funds (depending on the agreement). They would certainly cancel and withhold a certain fee to cover cancellation costs.


  2. you should be ok if you contact your travel agent and explain the problem there is no reason why you should be penalised for your friends attitude

  3. I am thinking that you would probably lose the deposit, maybe you could try and find someone else to go instead of them

  4. It depends whose name the holiday is booked in.

    If it's four separate bookings there is no problem.

    If one person has booked a holiday for four then you do have a problem. The company have a right to hold you to the contract

    One solution would be to try to claim on your holiday insurance if the one person has a genuine reason for not having the money.

    Otherwise it looks as though you lose your deposit.

    Lesson learned for the future, each person makes a separate booking for flight and hotel, then you don't get stuck like this.
