What happens if I paid my credit card, but then I returned something?

Will I just get a credit on my card for the next purchases/billiing cycle?

Yes, your statement will show a negative balance (probably represented by parenthesis).  Your credit wont be for the next billing cycle, it will be available in about four days after your return.  The credit card company will issue you a check, or you could use the negative balance towards your next purchase.

Yes you will get the credit on your next statement.  Should you not charge in the following statement period you will get a check from the card company for the "overpayment".  They don't like to carry credit balances for you.
