  1. If I'm right, Catholics don't believe in birth control. Why would they believe in abortion? She might be kicked out, but she might not.

  2. She will not be forced to get an abortion, not by the Catholic school anyway, seeing as that's totally against the faith.

It depends on the individual school as to whether or not she is able to keep going there.  She'd probably get some support from the school chaplain, or a guidance teacher etc. with regards to the pregnancy.

  3. It depends on the school. Some pregnant students can stay in school. Others might have to home-school or transfer to a different school while they are visibly pregnant.

A girl will NEVER be forced to get an abortion.

  4. NO ONE CAN FORCE ANYONE TO GET AN ABORTION.

and at a Catholic School they should believe that Abortion is illegal anyways.

i dont think you can get kicked out of school until you start to get bigger.

    good luck :)

  5. She cannot be forced to have an abortion. It is her body. As to being kicked out of school, that comes down to the school's policies. Some will show dreadful hypocrisy and kick them out, some will show compassion and understand that as Christians they are supposed to support the young parents who made a mistake.

Please place school last in your worries right now. Get yourself to a doctor and start getting the proper care you need. This is very important. Once you have done that, please find the strength to tell your parents. It will be frightening and awful to do, but you will feel relieved. Most girls who go to their parents and say, "I'm scared and I need your support and help right now," will get it, even if their parents are not thrilled about becoming grandparents.

At the risk of dishonesty - if you are otherwise healthy, I would then suggest not informing the school until you are showing. Just like working mothers, it's quite possible to study and use your brain without being handicapped by your growing belly.

Even if you can't stay in the school, life isn't over. There are many options for continuing your studies later. You just need to be determined and strong. Good luck, get some vitamins, see a doctor, and look after yourself.

  6. i was in a catholic school so was my cousin she got pregnant and they helped her more than anything gave her time off x

  7. No one can force you to get an abortion.  It all depends on the catholic school rules on whether they make her leave.

  8. In my town when a girl got pregnant (from a catholic school)  they asked her to leave. They usually end up at my school.

  9. my friends friend friend, was 17 and preggers and once she started to show alot they told her that she would have to do correspondance or have the baby and then come back and complete it because its a negative roll in christian school

  10. Well i am catholic and i can tell you one thing they will not force them to get an abortion since it is completely against our religion. When i was in catholic school if someone got pregnant they got sent to a different school because it also against our religion to have premarital s*x and to have a baby out of wed lock. I am now 21 and got pregnant before i was married i was engaged so we just moved up the wedding date so we didn't have a baby out of wed lock. Good Luck

  11. The guidelines seems to change a bit from school to school. The Catholic Church would never force anyone to get an abortion.

Here is the Lancaster Catholic High School Student Handbook from Lancaster, Pennsylvania:

    PREGNANT STUDENTS

No student will be denied an education at Lancaster Catholic High School solely because of pregnancy. The student may continue her education at Lancaster Catholic after the birth of her child.

Because of the responsibility a pregnancy entails, both male and female students will be counseled on proper attitudes/behavior. An appointment must be made with the school nurse.

It is the school's expectation that a pregnant student will fulfill all academic requirements in the classroom and at home, unless there is a medical excuse. A doctor's approval in writing is necessary in order to return to classes after childbirth. Homebound instruction, if absence is longer than three weeks, shall be the student's responsibility.
