What happens if a remote control helicopter goes out of range?

  1. Once out of radio range of your transmitter, the helicopter's receiver will be subject to interference from other sources (like other radios, power lines, radio pylons etc). It will, most likely, suffer an uncontrolled crash or fly around till the fuel is spent and then come back to the ground in whatever condition of flight it was last left.

    Best is not to let it out of your range. It can be very dangerous and cause severe injury or extensive damage.


  2. You loose control of the helicopter. It will then be on its own, and will do what comes naturally to it. If it has a fail-safe device, the device will take control. If it does not have a fail-safe device it will probably crash into something.

  3. Depends on the model, but some will automatically land if they lose radio contact.  Or it will keep going until it crashes or runs out of fuel or both.
