What happens if a split splits all the way up the hair shaft?

Well, I keep trimming my split ends constantly...and it appears that they always come back...Could it be that the end split all the way up...What happens when a split end splits completely?

you don't go bald, there's too much hair on your head for that to happen.  and even if you did, it would grow back.  I suggest deep condition, and try not to cut your hair for a little while.
