What happens if i change the ip address on my xbox live?

im trying to run a ps3 and xbox on the same network and they both need different ip addresses

If you have a router then just allow DHCP to configure the addressing of your local network.  Just verify that DHCP has enough addresses in the address pool to lease out to all of your devices on your home network. If you are assigning static IP addresses to your machines then there are a few things you must check and configure.

The most common private ip range is the class C addresses of 192.168.0.1 thru 192.168.255.254 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

Basically this what I would do:

-Set your router to ip to be 192.168.0.1

-Set your xbox to be 192.168.0.2

-PS3 to 192.168.0.3

-If you have and laptop and or computer then use 192.168.0.4 and so on.

-Just increase the last number by one with each device that you add to your network. (192.168.0  is constant.  Do not change these numbers).

**Subnet mask for all addresses should be 255.255.255.0

Changing your ip of your xbox won't affect anything just long as it has an address that belongs to your network
