  1. you need to see a doctor..

  2. Splint it and se how it feels in a couple days

  3. you should go see a doc if ya can and maybe look into some anger management. just a little joke there. if you dont get it looked at it could mend itself the only way it can and you could end up with damage the rest of your life which means pain and arthritis. red and swelling indicates and infection but it is probably just inflammed now from the trauma. squishy isnt good. if you can afford it i would get it looked at to avoid problems later on.

  4. Seeing a doctor would be the best and most reasonable thing to do. Since it feels "squishy" it could be a fracture. Until you get an appointment I suggest you wear a finger splint and wrap a bandage around your arm and hand. To make the pain lessen restrain from using your injured hand and apply an ice pack to it. If you feel the need take some pain killers such as Advil.  If it is not treated your bone could grow back together deformed so I suggest you seek medical attention as soon as possible. Good luck and get well. :-)

  5. If the knuckle is broke that is really nothing you can do, the doctor would either bound the fingers or splint the fingers and wrist. Sometimes small bones can heal them selves up very nicely with out medical attention. However not seeing the doctor can be risky to. With out proper medical attention the hand could heal wrong and can cause calcium build-up around the break which collected the calcuim and can cause orthoarthillis  or paralyzeded finger or hand or all.

  6. A splint won't hurt anything, so it's worth a shot.  If it's bruised, swollen, and is difficult or impossible to move than it's quite possible it's broken, but not necessarily.  It's also possible to have cracked, chipped or just bruised a bone.  Lastly, damaged tendons or ligaments are very painful, cause the adjoining joint to be painful, and actually take much longer than bones to heal (mainly because they are in motion more than bones are).   A splint isn't going to hurt you. If you broke your knuckle, what would a doctor do?  That's the real question.  If the treatment would be some kind of surgical pin and a cast, then you'd need to see a doctor.  If the typical treatment is a splint, then go for it.  I will say this:  hand injuries can take a long time to heal as we use our hands alot and this keeps things from being able to rest enough (same with feet).  See a doctor if you can and purchase a splint in the meantime.  Don't let it go on if it gets worse or isn't better in a couple weeks.  Make sure the splint goes all the way down into your palm to support the injured knuckle.  In the old days, a popsicle stick and medical tape would be the cheap and interim solution.

  7. i broke my knuckle. now its a little bigger than the other knuckles, but it doesnt hurt and i can still use that finger.

  8. The biggest problem with letting your knuckle heal on it's own is that you increase your chance of cancer forming there later in life; as the bone works overtime to repair itself, some abnormal cells that usually would be destroyed may be laid down in the new bone matrix where the tear heals, and the cells can potentially replicate themselves, turning into cancer.  As an interesting side note, Bob Marley refused to see a doctor for a broken ankle, and that was the site where his cancer started (which was his cause of death).  This does not mean that you WILL for certain get cancer because of this broken knuckle, but if you have had a lot of broken bones, it may be something to think about.

  9. First of, can you the finger connected to that finger? If you cant its for sure broke. If you can only move it a big its probably broken. If you can move it fully then its just bruised badly. I suggest if it is by that survey or probably go see a doctor.
