What happens if i place a win bet on a horse and then it is confirmed as a non-runner?

  1. While Arcadia is right about bets made weeks in advance, if you mad the bet the day of the race and your horse was declared a non-starter, a refund will be coming to you.


  2. If the horse is a late scratching then you will be given a refund but not until after the race has been run.

  3. Normally, you lose your money...its quite common with bets placed several days prior to a race (known as "ante-post bets") that you get much better odds, but run the risk of losing your stake if the horse is pulled from the race before the start.

    But check with the bookie, some have different terms and conditions.
