What happens if i use 220 volt instead of 100 volt for blu ray external device?

i am thinking to buy a blu ray device from japan. how can i use it in europe?

  1. you might damage it

    Edit: This is what i use for some of my electronics

    it can step up or step down. meaning it can turn 220V to 110V, or, 110V to 220V

    Edit2: Forgot to mention, some electronics (like laptops) don't need converters since the adaptors can take any voltage. just an FYI


  2. it'll probably cook it, or at least the adapter. Just get the 110/220 converter and call it a day.
