  1. If it will cause hardship, they will probably excuse you if you call them, but as inconvenient as Jury Duty is, we have an obligation to serve when called.  If you were charged or done wrong by someone, you would expect them to be there for you.  Be a good citizen.

  2. you will go to jail.

  3. If you only got a summons for jury duty, you can write a letter to be exempted. But if you were refused exemption and you still don't show up - yes, a warrant for your arrest will be issued!

  4. you get fined or go to jail...make up an excuse! Alot of people do that, because you go there and listen to bullshit half the time. And they only give you $5 an hour...or was it the whole day? anyhow, one less gallon for you to pay for gas.

Read the paper, you can be excused only to certain reasons...just call them, it's not difficult.

  5. Just send a letter and tell them why you cant go and they will most generally send a letter back excusing you from duty. if you do nothing they will put a warrant out for your arrest.

  6. yeah its a federal offense not to show up. i actually have jury duty tomorrow morning at 9am and it f*cking SUCKS!!!!!! but you should go then tell them and try to get out of it.......don't just not show up though. that wouldn't be good.

  7. You will be arrested and maybe go to jail.

I don't see what the big deal is.  If you are not working, you will get paid to go.  Some employers still pay you for jury duty.  But you get to sit in on a trial and help decide whether a law has been broken or not.  Better than reality TV people.  You can actually participate.

(I know about all of the real excuses not to go such as financial hardship and family.  So don't whine about them here.)

  8. Call and handle it over the phone. By calling you don't have the stress of waiting for a letter in the mail and wondering if it will be excused. I did that a few months ago and was excused due to my job.  Just be sure to explain your situation and if the person you speak to denies ask to speak to a higher up in charge.  However, if you still have to go to jury duty you will be paid if selected.

  9. Unless you have rescheduled or have submitted a valid excuse (which are listed on the back of the form, generally) then a warrant is issued for your arrest.

  10. You will be charged with ccontempt of court.
