What happens if low impedence speakers connected to a high impedence amplifier?

I had a 5.1 speakers of 2.7 ohs impedence at 120w , can connect this speakers to a 8 to 12 impedence amplifier

  1. I SUSPECT you are measuring this speaker with an ohmmeter....

    All 8 ohm speakers actually measure 5.4 ohms with DC voltmeters, so I suspect your REAL impedance is FOUR OHMS on that speaker....

    Would I recommend using it?  Well you CAN if you're CAREFUL....

    No more than 50% volume or you'll blow your amplifier, and I'd rather you use only 30% preferably with it....

    But it's better to get an amplifier that can handle 4 to 8 ohms impedance.
