how if my son is halfway thru the summer class and we have to leave the country for emergency reasons, will the school give him a consideration?i dont want him to repeat the entire school year but we really have to leave asap.this will be d first tym he will miss school coz he was never late or absent.as a matter of fact,he got an award for having a perfect attendance.the staff in his school are kinda unfriendly and as i first asked the woman there, she was juz giving me a grin while saying"well,if he needs to take summer class,he needs to take summer class and that is 4 weeks".i feel so distressed.just because he wont finish the 10 days more of his summer class, they will disregard the entire academic year my son went thru?is it really like this in america coz in my country, its very easy to talk to the school administration and they are very considerable. i hope to get some comforting advice.

  1. i dont know if the school would have any other option than to hold him back.

  2. no if he failed the class during the year and was offered summer class to make that up and does not finish the summer session, he will be failed and need to repeat the entire year.

sorry, this is how it has always been to my knowledge.

  3. he wont be clever as he would have been if he attended

  4. This depends on the school and/or district rules.  In my kids' school if a child is assigned summer school for failing a class and doesn't complete it, they will be held back.  If assigned a clase to just help the child improve in a subject, then they won't be held back, but will be put in a lower level of that subject.

    Good luck

  5. $$$$ down the drain along with the gas prices
