What happens if one letter in my name is missing on my plane ticket?

Back in April my dad got plane tickets online from Alaska Airlines.. and we recently checked it and one of the letters in my name was missing. Will they let me go through with one missing letter?

Ring up the airlines and point out the mistake.There should be no problem, but due to the security situation it is better to be sure.

I would call and tell them before arriving. You never wanna get pulled into one of those security rooms!

This is not a problem especially if you are flying within the US. This becomes more of a problem if you are flying overseas. I wouldn't call the airline because they will probably make you pay a name change fee and put a note in your booking for the check-in staff. I am a travel agent and I accidentally book people's name with a couple of letters wrong all the time and they never have any problems.

If you are really worried just use the online check-in or a check-in counter at the airport rather than going up to the counter.
