What happens if someone sprains their ankle then about two hours later they take their sports class even though it still hurts but then treats their sprain the day after. Did they damage it even more by doing that in the same day?

If you sprained your ankle, you could indeed be doing more damage to it or causing it to take longer to heal.  Our bodies use pain to tell us to take it easy or let us know we have injured something.  You may need to have your ankle x-rayed to make sure it's not broken.  Rest the ankle by elevating it and applying some ice to the area ( do not put the ice directly on the ankle, wrap it in a towel first) and ice if for 10-15 minutes at a time.
