  1. If you paid by paypal then you are covered for a refund up to £500, just contact them if that is how you paid and you will get your money back.

a good tip before you buy anything from ebay is to look at the sellers feedback profile, that is the number beside their name, you can see what percentage of happy customers they have had and if there are any unhappy customers.

Paypal is owned by ebay also so if you wrote to ebay they can suspend the sellers account and freeze access to any monies received for goods until a dispute is resolved.

  2. If you pay by paypal, you should get the amount refunded.

In practice eBay very rarely do anything.

I had a problem with a trader who kept giving excuses for not sending the item that I had won, eBay did nothing.  In the end I threatened county court action and I received a refund from the trader.

  3. I wonder why you are asking here?

Check out ebay...to help out, follow the link below to ebay's help section..there are 28 items about fraud

  4. When it happened to me Ebay didnt pay me any compensation or recover my money. I lost £300.00.

You should report the seller so Ebay will close their acount down and stop them conning anybody else.

I wish I had gone to the police when I was ripped off, and would if it happened again.

I found Ebay useless to be honest. They claim to be able to compensate you for your loss etc, but when it comes down to it, they dont live up to their promises : (

    I paid by Paypal.

  5. Ebay/Paypal pays you compensation.

  6. If you paid by PayPal, you have 60 days from day of purchase to lodge a dispute.

I'm not sure how they do it, if they simply lock down the money in the seller's account or reverse the transaction but they lock down the sum involved so the seller can't remove it until the dispute is resolved.  If it's resolved in your favour, you'll receive the money back.

Sometimes lodging a dispute is a good way to make the seller wake up & pay attention - I once had a problem with a seller who only sent part of a lot we bought from them & started making excuses why shouldn't have to send me my stuff until I lodged a dispute and they couldn't get the cash out.
