I will be receiving a package very soon and i would like to know an when i might be receiving it. The person that sent it to me said he gave it in to the post office Saturday morning. I do know that there aren't any packages sent on Saturday but i would like to know what is happened during that time. Will it be sent or will it stay in the same place? I read somewhere that they will be sent but not received? Not sure what that really means.

I also have another question, if something is sent through express post from North NSW to Liverpool area how long would it take. If it was sent on Monday morning is there any chance of it being received in the afternoon?

  1. In the U.S. the post office runs 24 hrs a day 7 days a week.  If a package is mailed on Saturday, it is sent to the processing plant the same day on one of many trucks that carry mail between the processing plant and the local post offices.  Depending on how the package was sent (express, priority, first class... ) it can take any where from 1 day to 7 days.  How ever, most items mailed within the U.S. can make it across country with in 3 day.  I mail things from California to

Vermont all the time and 3 days is usually what it takes.

As for Liverpool I have no clue.  But it is unlikely that an express mailed on Monday morning will be delivered the same day. Most likely next day or 2nd day.
