Question:

What happens if the FDIC goes under?

I know if a bank goes under the FDIC covers $100,000 of deposits. What if the FDIC goes under? I know it can, because it gets no government appropriations. Is there something to back up the FDIC, or would my money just become vulnerable?

  1. economists predict that if the fdic were to be in trouble like the run on banks in 40's, the fed would just print money to cover it, this of course would devalue the dollar
