  1. Depends on the country.  In some places (Pakistan and Turkey for example), the military regularly plays a major role in politics.

    If you are referring to the US, members of the military are forbidden by law (UCMJ) from attending public political rallies and from other public comment about politics.

    So, to answer your question (assuming you are referring to the US), the military people involved could be court martialed.
