What happens if there is a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, to the fuel prices?

I know they are going to shut down the platforms, but I have seen a new report on CNN the fuel prices would soar over $10.00 gallon, Does any one agree with or not we are already struggling with a bad economy.

  1. I don't think it would drastically impact price. When Hurricane Katrina hit, prices may have gone up but not by much. The main thing causing the price increase is speculation by investors. There has not been much of a change in oil supply or demand over the past year.


  2. They go up, just like if there was no hurricane.

  3. nothing..those rigs are built very well..hurricane will pass over

  4. the oil companies shut down the oil platforms and raise prices.
