  1. there used to be a tiebreaker in the race to the first two chases, but there is nothing sacred about the number 12. just as in the past, there could be 20 cars in the chase - any car who finished within 400 points of the leader is in as well. of course, that won't happen this year, but the change in rules in 2006 - at least for the-then 10 car field - got rid of the tie breaker, which was wins, then top-5s, then top-10s.

  2. There's no tiebreaker, all of them will make it in the chase.

  3. There is no tie breaker, any and all drivers tied for the 12th position would make it into the chase.

edit:  I got this from jayski.  It describes what happens in the event of a tie.

So what happens if there is a tie for 10th place in The Chase? UPDATE: NASCAR's Jim Hunter was interviewed during TNT's Nextel Cup qualifying and was asked by Allen Bestwick what would happen if drivers are tied in the top-10 of drivers points? Hunter said, if two drivers are tied for 10th in drivers points after the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond, BOTH drivers would get in the Chase.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  4. Yep, I think they would bring out the "rule book".

They keep it in between the ET and Bigfoot

  5. they will be in the Chase but if one of them finish lower than the other, that driver is out of the Chase

  6. gee good question, I would guess that there can be no tie if on the odd or more than odd chance there would be, look for one of those infamous rules to pop up in the mysterious rule book

  7. Tregoste pretty well answered your question. I remember last year DW said there could be 20 drivers in the chase if they were tied for the last spot..Good question and good luck with your driver(s)

  8. I think it would be a tie breaker that would go by wins. But they're both winless so I don't know what would be next. Kahne does have a couple wins so he would make it in a tie.

  9. I think they both make it

  10. Unfortunately they both dont get in. They go by wins. They go by who has the most wins. However, I dont know what they do if they dont have wins. More than likely go by who was higher at the end of last years point race. Meaning Bowyer more than likely would get in over Kasey and David.

  11.   Tie Breaker!!

  12. If Bowyer and Ragan were to tie, they would both make the chase.
