What happens if you're caught cheating?

What happens if you're caught cheating in high school? Would it end up on your record? Do you get denied entrance into university? Do you get disqualified from scholarships?

it isn't that big of a deal. the school punishes you, writes it on your record maybe...but they don't send that to scholarships...and colleges usually look at your grades not behavior misdeeds.

i am pretty sure this doesn't affect you at all.

most of what scholarship committees know is the info you tell them and they confirm.

i went to school with a lot of cheaters, and they all got into college just fine.

Usually people get suspended in high school, but in college, you will get thrown out for that.

In high school, it depends upon your local school system whether it will be on your transcript.  Usually, I would guess that it does not print out as cheating.  However, some school systems do include major disciplinary infraction on the transcripts.  Ask your guidance counselor at your school for the exact answer.    

You could be denied entrance into a university if the school is competitive.  More than anything else, a cheating violation will effect your references for scholarships, jobs, and colleges.  How can they give the highest recommendation to someone who potentially cheated in many exams, but was not caught?

What will most likely happen is some sort of small punishment, as well as being denied into any sort of honor society in your school.  This could also really affect recommendations from your teachers, as the word spreads easily.  But seriously, how do you get caught?  If you're going to cheat, do it right.

no not at all, i dont think it would go on you record either. all there would be is a detention or maybe suspension or maybe just an F on that particular test or quiz...but  people nowadays cant even cheat right in my class...
