  1. Not sure, but they're packaged according to weight. If you have a large amount in the tube, it may be too much treatment for a cat.

Just never use Advantix on a cat, it's toxic to them.

  2. This is very dangerous - you need to get the cat to the vet - the cat will have to stay a few days for treatment of pesticide poisoning, and hopefully will survive

  3. the dosage is too high, you can poison your cat.

  4. your cat gets poisoned. will probably die.

  5. both frontline and heartgard are covered by the company that makes them. they are guaranteed to work. if your pet gets fleas or worms while under these preventative medications, the company will foot the bill for the treatments or procedures the vet has to use to get your pet well again. That is why you should not use the product any way other than what is stated on the box. If you misuse the product, frontline is not liable for any problems that may arise. Might as well just use the frontline made for cats. *smiles* I don't know if there is a real difference between the formulas of the products except for the amount that is put on. A dosage for dogs will be higher than what is given to cats, making it a health hazard for your cat. You wouldn't want to accidently overdose her.

  6. you need to bathe the cat very good IMMEDIATELY!!!  and keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesnt start to have seizures...the dog frontline is stronger than the cat frontline keep a close eye for 24 hours

  7. Frontline is one of three flea products that is safe to use on cats.  In fact, many people purchase dog frontline because it comes in larger amounts, and they then have enough for many applications.  The ingredients in dog Frontline is the same as cat Frontline.  The other products that are safe for use on cats are Revolution and Advantage.  However, using dog Frontline (or the other 2) on cats is an off label use, so it's always best to check with your vet before using this product.

**Clarification for poster**--Frontline for dogs is based on weight, so you will have to adjust the dose for a cat.  Certainly, if you have Frontline for an 80 pd dog, you're not going to use the entire amount for a cat.  Typically, you will use 0.5 cc for all cats, but again, check with your vet.  (source: "Cat Wrangling Made Easy" by Dusty Rainbolt)

  8. not completly sure but its probably to much. one time i accidentally gave my cat two differant types of flea control a couple days apart and she started twitching really weird i gave her a bath and it stopped.

  9. If you apply the whole dose then it will poison your cat.  If you decrease the dosage size to one appropriate for your cat then it will act the same as the cat frontline since dog and cat frontline is the same thing (something that is certainly not true for all types of products).

But if you actually plan to do that you will have to be very careful not to overdose the cat. Generally it's better not to take the risk at all since a mistake means a dead kitty or a vet bill much higher than simply buying the right version.

edit: adding to what denver said: Dog Revolution is twice as potent as cat Revolution so anyone who uses the dog version for their cats needs to figure out the cat dose then cut it in half.

  10. You probably just killed your cat.  It is clearly posted to use only on a dog.  Get the cat to the vet immediately.  Frontline works on the central nervous systems of fleas and that's what kills them.

Get the cat to the vet immediately.

  11. Your cat is gonna die.

  12. I'm not sure. I've used dog flee and tick shampoo on my cats before, and it worked just the same. But I don't know about frontline.

  13. cats can have seizures and die if the wrong pesticide is used or the wrong poundage strength. the directions tell us what we need to know.
