  1. I don't know what happens to you if you are caught driving with a suspended license in Mississippi, but I DO know what happens to you if you are caught driving with a suspended license in Alabama. You are given a ticket and you subsequently have to pay a fine. (In my case, the fine was $100 and I also had to pay $34 court costs.)

  2. You could be arrested for driving on a suspended license or given a citation and released.  It depends on several factors like if you're local (someone who is from out of town may be less likely to come to court) and how many times you failed to come to court.  Also if your license is suspended there could be a warrant out for your arrest so you could also be arrested on that.

For a first offense the court will usually just make you pay a fine (somewhere in the neighborhood of $300).

I use to be a Police Officer in MS.
