I have a male recruiter, so he doesn't know (obviously). I'm talking about Basic Combat Training for the Army.

  1. Most women menstrual cycle stops in BTC, mine did.  They don't care if it is heavy, you will still do the same thing as everyone else.  If you have cramps that prevent you from doing training, you will be recycled or separated, depending on your situation.  I have had surgery and cramps are like dying for me, bu they expect me to do everything any other Soldier is doing.  Pack lots of hygiene products, cause you might get away with that with a male DS, but as soon as a female finds out...she is going to be all over you!

  2. Before you go to your training you should get a shot of Depo-Provera from your  OBGYN..it will stop your bleeding completely ( as mine has )  or give you very light break through bleeding .. and you only have to get the shot every three months..Good Luck and God Bless!!

  3. You are not the first female to enter into the service.

Believe it or not, the Army has a bit of experience with female recruits.  The Army or any service branch will not tolerate you using your cycle as an excuse though.

  4. Please don't go in the service, if you are planning on using this as an excuse to get out of anything.  It won't work, you will be miserable and get a really bad reputation with the other females in your unit.

Sorry, but it's the truth.  We have worked hard to gain what credibility we have in the  military and this DOES NOT cut it.
