  1. Hello Kevin. I have to assume that you were sentenced for a crime that occured in a state that you dont reside in?

    Under normal circumstances, when booked, you are asked for your legal address. If you listed an address in the state you were arrested in, that will be where the diversion will be placed.

    You can apply for an interstate compact, which is a term meaning a transfer to another state/jurisdiction. This takes about 4 months and is only granted if the state you want to go to will accept you.

    Otherwise, you will need to reside in the state you are in until the diversion is completed and you receive the papers from the court stating you are done.
