  1. if it is significantly less you do not have to accept it.

    in most states you can accept the job and then draw partial benefits in which case you take home more money and it cost the fund less. commonly known as a win-win.


  2. If you are on unemployment, and offered a job making less than you were at your previous job, you do not have to take that job.

    If you are offered a job making the same salary or more, and it is a comparable field, then you have to take it or you could lose your unemployment benefits.

  3. try negotiating with the potential employer.  When doing so, try to sell yourself as best as you can by highlighting your best qualities and justifying why you would be a great investment for their company.  Clearly they want to have you work for them, otherwise they wouldn't have offered you the job.  Best of luck!!
