What happens if you break a promise ring?

I don't mean literally break it, but if you promise not to have s*x and you do, what happens?

Cause doesn't it seem that you could just wear the promise ring and pretend you're a virgin to your parents or whatever, while still having s*x?

But yeah, just wondering if you automatically go to h**l or something lolz.
