  1. well since your black there throw you in jail for two years

  2. Depends on the state or even roadway you are on.

When you say Thruway, I assume you speak of the NY Thruway.  Usually if you went through an E-ZPass lane, a picture of your car was most likely taken.  What happens from there, your plates are run through a system-- if your plates are registered with an E-ZPass account, your account simply gets charged the amount due, nothing else happens.  If it does not register, you may be issued a ticket. Sometimes nothing happens and you get away with it.  I do not know if it is true, but I remember hearing that there is a grace period of how missed tolls you are allowed.

Here in NJ, many people do not know that the tolls on the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, and the Atlantic City Expressway are based on the honor system.  If you miss a toll  either by accident or because there are no attendants for change, you can pay it at the next toll (your vehicle's description is taken, so you will not get ticketed) or mail the toll to the agency.

NJ is serious will toll violators lately, the fines are steep (up to $500).

I attached a link for you regarding the honor system payments here.

  3. They used to chase you down with a cop car.  But often the cop car was not around - waiting.

Now they just take a picture of your plates and then send you the ticket by mail (every time).

    Good Luck...

  4. Sometimes you might drive straight through the "SpeedPass" lane, without slowing down - say, by accident -  and nothing happens.  You happen to be lucky that day and win a free pass.

Don't count on it, but it does happen.......although I certainly wouldn't make a habit of it.

(Here's another question: If you do get caught, what's the fine?)

  5. Well, truthfully. I am an ex truck driver. I am seen them pull people off to the side and call someone to bring them money,i have seen them escorted back out of the tolls by the police. And yes if you blow them 90% of the time you will be chased down by officers, they are getting stictor on this, plus they do have the cameras to get your plate,in case they dont catch you or the cop is on break, lol. I have also seen alot more ATM's at tolls, where you pull over and get some money or they except debit/credit cards in certain lanes. Just bet they will get their money-money makes people hungry. Be careful and carry some change in your car if your smart.
