  2. stollen, the german/austrian sweet bread with raisins and cherries also contains marzipan and that is baked, however the bread is not eaten hot but when it cools the marzipan is still there, obviously its not cooked for 3 hours, but it doesnt disappear.

  7. It would burn. It's almond paste mixed with sugar. You might try coating it with something, and bake it for a shorter period of time at a lower temperature, but I would still be worried about it drying out.
