What happens if you die without life insurance and your family has no money to pay the funeral expenses. How do you get buried?

  1. If your body is not claimed for burial, the state will bury you.  In most cases in an unmarked group grave,  but that varies from local to local.  In most cases between friends and family they can scrap up enough for a simple burial or creamation (which may be done for about $300) There are also non-profit groups that help out.  If you are in this situation ask who locally may be able to help.


  2. You don't - you get cremated.   Most municipalities will pay to cremate an unclaimed body.   If the family claims the body, they can pay for the cremation - it's a fraction of the cost of a burial.

  3. It depends on your state, but your body will be disposed of.  Can't have rotting humans stink up the place.  I supposed most destitute bodies and used for medical reach then cremated! The other option is from the Heston movie "Soylent Green"!
