  1. You should be less worried about what might happen.  And more worried about living up to your word and honoring your contract to buy.

  2. Suing is a little severe. Try to talk to the seller about it, and he/she might let you slide. Worst case, you get negative feedback, and a warning from eBay. Get a few of them, and you'll be kicked off.

  3. Well once i have read that the seller can only sue you if you are in the same state or are paying sales tax. I dont know if that is ture but it's somthing to look into. But to answer your question, If you cant pay for the whole item, offer to pay the selling fees and in return no negative feedback. That always works. If it is a 200 dollar item, most likely you will pay them 15 dollars at most. You dont have to but it is common courtsey. if you dont have the money now and are not willing to spend the money you currently have do not bid on it.

  4. You could get kicked off from ebay once the seller reports you.  Once you get negative feedback it will really hurt your chances in the future of trying to sell something.  Why bid on something if you don't have the $???

  5. You can be sued by the seller for breach of contract. You will also never be allowed back on Ebay.

A bid is a binding contract. All bids are active until the auction ends. If you win a listing, you’re obligated to complete the transaction. Except under special circumstances, bid retraction is not permitted. Furthermore, misuse of the bid retraction option to manipulate the bidding process is not permitted. This includes any manipulation of the bidding process to discover the maximum bid of the current high bidder or to uncover the reserve price.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    Listing cancellation

    Limits on account privileges

    Account suspension

Forfeit of eBay fees on canceled listings

    Loss of PowerSeller status
