What happens if you dont have enough money for gas?

If you go get gas at a gas station and then realize you dont have enough money, what do u do? Its not like you can just put gas back! What does the gas station do about it?

Most gas stations I go to stopped letting you get the gas before paying years ago. If you want some free gas go to http://www.FreeGas.RipeBargains.com and get a free gift card in the mail that you can use at any gas station. I think it's for like $250.

they hold your drivers license and if you don't come back with the money, the cops come and get it from you.

Usually, they will let you come back with the money if you leave them your drivers license. Otherwise, it's theft.

they usually hold something that belongs to you until you come back and pay it, i left my money at home once and had to leave my drivers license with the station until i came back and paid for the gas,that was kind of embarrassing also,but this particular station didn't accept credit cards either,good luck.

I work at a gas station and like many people have said already we USE to take something of theres like a drivers licence. We had some problems with that though. Now we write down there name/ licence plate number and other contact information and do not let them leave until someone can bring in payment for them and if they do decide to leave the lot they are reported to police as a drive off.
