What happens if you fail to turn up to a summons for debts (county court judgement)?

  1. A sheriff's deputy will find you and  haul you off with a warrant for arrest. A bounty hunter also if the stakes are high enough.


  2. i live in the USA

    like if capital one is suing you or something.....

    if you DONT show up they will automatically win for the amount suing you for.  if it is capital one they will eventually sue you for the money in your bank accounts and any cars you own and they WILL take the money from your accounts because they emtyed both my accounts and left me with nothing.  they make sure they do it on the first of the month when most people get paid.  they cannot touch disability money.  

    if it is just a person suing you, if you dont show up they automatically win for the entire amount and they can come after you for 20 years.  plus you can never buy a house until you pay it.  also, they can keep suing you for the entire 20 years to keep finding information on your job and any bank accounts.  

    its best just to fight it.  if you do lose just file bankrupsy to get them off your back and off your credit report.
