  1. Smoke is a mixture of, among others, carbon dioxide, water and particulates. If you freeze smoke (using an extremely low temperature, since many of its components are gaseous), you end up with a solid block of carbon dioxide, ice and particulates.

Just to clarify, aerogel is NOT frozen smoke, even though its appearance and properties gave it that nickname.  Aerogel is a solid silica foam which has nothing to do with smoke.  As has been stated, smoke is a cloud of solid particles and gasses.  If you froze it, it would condense into a solid block of carbon dioxide, ice, and other substances depending on where the smoke came from.
