  1. Usually they ask you to leave, if you get caught again they usually do the something, unless they know you did it before, they almost never take down your info.

  2. Any of a number of things can happen, and most people here covered it. However, you should never pass through a grade crossing for any reason when the gates are down. It's absolutely not worth it, and if you're wrong trust me you won't get a second chance

  3. With respect, Michael is wrong.

If caught in the US, you will be forced to work for the UP.  The  ACLU and other watchdog groups are trying to get this practice ended, as it is contrary to the US Constitution's prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment.

Rumor has it that Amnesty International is getting into the fray as well...

  4. In the USA it is misdimenaor fine.

You can pay a fine, community service.

    Not good and dangersous.

  5. First time, they usually just ask you to leave. . explain that you were trying to get to such and such and meant no harm ..  .

Next time, don't get caught. . . not sure what the fine would be though . .

  6. BE POLITE TO THE JUDGE! SAY, GOOD MORNING OR AFTERNOON YOUR HONOR AND MOST LIKELY, THE JUDGE WILL GIVE YOU A STERN WARNING OR LOWER THE FINE IF THE JUDGE IS NICE! DON'T WORRY, SOO MUCH ABOUT IT! THE FIRST TIME, IS MOSTLY A GIVE A BREAK SITUATION! BUT, BE POLITE TO THE JUDGE OR HE CAN CHARGE YOU WITH OTHER STUFF RIGHT THERE! WHATEVER, THE JUDGE SAYS, REMEMBER THANK YOU YOUR HONOR! IT HELPS BEING CURTIOUS AND RESPECTFULL BECAUSE THE JUDGES THINK THEIR p**p DON'T STINK! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

  7. That is the trouble with people they just don't realise how dangerous it is to be near railway tracks. Trains can travel in the UK up to 125 mph and they cannot stop quickly, if the barriers were down then there would have been a train approaching even if it could not be seen.

I am not a professional railwayman but I have worked with steam locomotives on the main line so have some experience of the dangers, especially these days when trains are so much quieter then they used to be.

Trespassers on the railway are a menace not only to themselves but to all those who work on the railway, imagine if it was you who was driving a train and hit somebody, or if it was you who had to clean up the track side or even worse the front of the train, I have never seen a train that had hit a person but have seen one that had hit a deer, it was not pleasant. I am afraid that you deserve everything you get but I hoe that you will learn from this experience.

  8. You walked across the tracks while the barriers were down.

Why do you think the barriers were down if there were no trains coming? The barriers are lowered in good time to allow trains a safe passage, and to indicate their imminent arrival.

With a clean record, you will probably get no more than a good talking to from a police inspector, in the form of a verbal warning, or, if you have been a bit lippy about it, your case will be referred to the Criminal Prosecution Service.

The CPS would then decide whether to prosecute. The £1,000 fine is rarely executed, but you'd probably be looking at a fine of at least £50 plus court costs. The courts impose fines like this to make people aware that tresspassing is a crime and is dangerous: clearing up body parts from railway tracks is not a pleasant task and causes massive delays for passengers. Don't tresspass!

  9. This is not smart.  You endanger yourself by crossing RR tracks when the gates are down.  I think you can be arrested and fined for doing this in the states.  Even if you don't see a train coming, its not safe.  You may do this one time too many.

  10. you can be arrested for trust passing on private property
