  1. They'll find someone who speaks your language.  Some languages can be hard to find an interpreter for,  of course, but since many European countries have immigrants from most of the world, there's usually interpreters, too.

    English shouldn't be a problem in a big hospital, in any case.


  2. You shouldn't worry about that. In many countries there is a lingua franca, and although it's not always English, there will be other people willing to help. Most big places have interpreters and if you're in a touristy place - then there are hired people to help with language barriers. Medical staff is usually well trained too, and foreign language knowledge makes part of their CVs.
