My friend has been coughing up blood, and she may have caught TB from me (I had it in December, so chances are she caught it from me) She ahs two exams next week, but hasn't been diagnosed yet. Will she be able to take the exams this period or will she have to take it later on? Can anything be arranged for her, since she's applying for medicine in UCL and has an offer.

  1. Good grief - she has to see a doctor asap!  If she if coughing up blood, she will not be in a fit state to sit an exam.  These things happen, and she may have to delay any plans until she is well.  The offer will be put on hold for her. Also, if three people are diagnosed, the school will be closed down.  She needs to stay away before it is spread any further, it is unfair to everyone else.

  2. Youa re 17 and 18 and you haven't had your BCG vaccination? If she has possible TB she should go to a hospital as soon as possible. TB isn't just your average chest infection! She should get a doctor's note for the school or college where she is sitting her A LEvels. I have my A Levels next week, and I wouldn't really fancy cotracting TB in the middle of them!
