  1. Burtons the only brand that has that triangle of screws and theres only 3 so all burton boards need burton bindings. I just learned that like yesterday man. Sucks.

  2. Most companies make extra plates to fit Burtons pattern system.  Go into your local shop and they should be able to help you out.

I once had to set up a Burton Feelgood with a set of Rome Madison bindings.  I didn't have any extra Rome diamond baseplates so I used some extra's from another pair of Burton bindings.  It worked just fine.

  3. You should be able to use the bindings, just turn the base so that it lines up with the diamond pattern and then adjust the baseplate so your bindings are at the stance you are comfortable with. Burtons are actually not proprietary, they are just set up to look that way, which is pretty sneaky. If you are using Flow bindings, you can buy flow 3-hole base plates to avoid having to turn them like that, and I know that a few other companies offer seperate base plates as well. Either way, you can use them. If you're unsure, take them to your local shop and have them mount them for you.
