What happens if you leave a mild vaginal infection untreated?

not a sexually transmitted one just a normal infection..this relates to my other question if you want to look lol (smelly discharge)

Why would you want to leave it untreated..go buy some over the counter medicine for crying out loud!

You will get so much worse! You will get blisters, you have a fungus you need to get some vinegar and water and douche with it until you can get some mono stat or vagasil!

Why would you want to! Go and see your GP, he will take a swab, and then give treatment accordingly.

PLEASE don't be shy, see your doctor, he or she will not be embarrassed which should put you at your ease.

If it is caused by bacteria there could be a possibility it could spread and cause infertility.  You would need antibiotics to treat this sort of infection.

If it is thrush there are pessaries, creams or tablets.

To treat anything properly you need to know exactly what you are treating.

Google thrush and look at the patient.co.uk page, but don't make a self diagnosis.

It's dangerous to guess and try to treat it yourself, it is such an important part of a woman's body.

Why not tell your mum the problem, tell her you have looked on the internet, she will have heard of thrush, you can even show her the site.

Mums are not at all easily embarrassed either.

It could get worse; it could spread; it could become more difficult to cure when you do finally get it treated. You could end up hospitalized if it traveled to another part of your body. It could permanently damage your body by causing scar tissue to develop in, say, your fallopian tubes, making you sterile. Treat it now or treat it later. Your choice.

Its your body, and should treat like its important, because it is. Especially your v****a! Get it treated asap, getting any infection shouldn't be questioned as to what would happen if you didn't treat it..always get infections treated, as they can get worse.. and that would just be yucky and more of hassle. If you leave an infection untreated it will most likely get worse.  The skin down there is really sensitive and is not as resistant against infection like the rest of the body.  If you leave it untreated it could possibly turn into a bladder infection - a feeling of having to pee all the time, and then an insane pain when you actually pee.  Then if that goes on too long the infection will travel up to your kidneys and cause all sorts of problems.  I say take care of it while you know it's there and in it's early stages.

Yeast=Fungus which will continue to grow with the right PH, moisture and anaerobic environment. Soooo with that being said if you leave it untreated it will be...one unfair to those around you lol....and painful/uncomfortable during s*x and urination...but not serious and very easily treated so...go get you some myconazole
