I got a parking ticket about 3 months ago. I lost the ticket and eventually forgot about it. Today I was cleaning out my things and I found it. It says that after 10 days the ticket is $45. I havnt gotten any other notices or anything. Should I send in the payment? What happens if I dont?

  1. definitly send in the payment . I slipped up on a parking ticket and cop ran my tag of course it came up because judge imposed a bench warrant for unpaid ticket so down the station i went in handcuffs. I also got extra tickets on top of it because the judge had also suspended my license which i didnt know about. so i got bailed out for $86 kinda pathetic really. then of course i had to go to court to fight the driving on a suspended license ended up settling for a fine. bottom line pay the ticket!

  2. You can just wait for the next message, or you can try your luck and send ticket in late. You may not get the second notice if your first payment is still received on time.

  3. Depending on where you live,  you can have trouble registering your car.  The DMV will make you pay the fine plus any additional fees before you can register your car.

There is a possiblity they could put the boot on your car but that is usually reserved for habitual users that have mutiple tickets that have not been paid.  Then there are aditional fees to have that removed.

The best thing for you to do would be to go down to your local Police station... where ever the ticket tells you to pay.  see if the fine has increased higher than the $45. and then pay the fine.

  4. Let me see if I got this right, a parking ticket from three months ago and you forgot to paid it?

Call the court and paid the fine and any fees that are included. If you don't pay, continue to drive around till you get stop by a Cop and wonder why you have a warrant out for your arrest.

  5. There are several things that will happen. Your car can be impounded or "booted," depending on where you live. If you get pulled over for any violation of any kind, you can be arrested. You should absolutely send in the payment. The city is not fooling around and ultimately you will be sorry if you don't care of it right away. You had an opportunity to pay it earlier and you did not. That's your fault. Suck it up and put the matter to rest. It's money well spent.

  6. Well, you can lose your car, you can go to jail, and/or you can pay multiple times what that parking ticket is worth.

    HAWD

  7. This is a MAJOR ,problem, 1) If you make a major investment, like buying a home, it can hold up the contract, as well as other things,  You can pay this, without a lot of problems,,telephone the traffic Dept tell them the truth, ask how you can resolve this , they will work with you, most every time very nicely, you may have to pay a late fee, most of the time it is'nt that much.  Good Luck
